Eugene sees improvements throughout first day of Phillip Island race weekend

Team Go Eleven started in the first free practice session with a different configuration from the last day of pre-season testing with the aim of identifying the right set-up. Unfortunately, the rideability of the bike has worsened becoming more difficult to ride in fast Australian corners.

So, in the afternoon session, our technicians, assisted by Ducati Corse men, made several changes, finding a solution that allowed Eugene Laverty to ride comfortably. Eugene immediately managed to improve his lap time, maintaining a steady and rather good pace in the race pace perspective.

The Irish rider said was quite satisfied with the progress made, and now the team must continue working on the right balance of the bike, trying to tie the fast corners with the slow ones.

Free Practice 1: P 17 + 1.754
Free Practice 2 : P 12 + 1.076

EUGENE LAVERTY:
“The most important thing is that we are continuing to improve. During the second practice we improved the turning of the bike through the faster corners and this was an important step forward. Our pace is very consistent and this is particularly important during the second half of the race at Phillip Island.”
